PrestaShop Abandoned Cart Settings

In PrestaShop, “Abandoned Cart” settings are usually managed through a module, because default PrestaShop does not include advanced abandoned cart recovery emails.

Common Abandoned Cart Settings

1. Enable Guest Checkout

Go to:

Shop Parameters → Order Settings

Enable:

  • Guest checkout
  • Reorder option

This helps reduce cart abandonment.

Example:

  • First reminder: 1 hour
  • Second reminder: 24 hours

  • Fixed amount coupons

Customer Filters

Send reminders only to:

  • Registered users
  • Guests
  • Specific customer groups

  • Coupon code

4. Cron Job Setup

Most abandoned cart modules require a cron job.

Typical cron URL:

https://yourstore.com/modules/modulename/cron.php

Setup cron from:

  • Hosting panel (like Hostinger)
  • cPanel
  • Server cron

Recommended:

  • Every 15 minutes or 1 hour

5. SMTP Email Configuration

Go to:

Advanced Parameters → E-mail

Configure SMTP:

  • Gmail
  • SendGrid
  • Mailgun
  • Hosting SMTP
