PrestaShop Customer Group Setup

In PrestaShop, Customer Groups are used to:

  • Show different prices or discounts
    Restrict categories/products
    Control shipping/payment methods
    Create wholesale or VIP customers
    Set tax display options

How to Create a Customer Group

Step 1: Open Customer Groups

Go to:

Back Office → Customers → Groups

Step 2: Add New Group

Click:

“Add new group”

Fill details:

  • Group name → Example: Retail, Wholesale, VIP
    Discount (%) → Optional group discount
    Price display method → Tax included/excluded
    Show prices → Yes/No

Step 3: Category Access

Choose which categories this group can access.

Example:

  • Wholesale group sees wholesale category
    Retail customers cannot see it

Step 4: Save

Click Save


Assign Customer to Group

Go to:

Customers → Customers

Open customer profile.

Under:

  • Default customer group
  • Access groups

Select desired groups and save.

Advanced Uses

Different Prices for Groups

Product page → Specific Prices

Set:

  • Customer group
  • Discount
  • Date range
  • Minimum quantity

Hide Products From Certain Groups

Category settings → Group Access

B2B Store Setup

Enable:

  • Wholesale prices
  • Tax-excluded pricing
  • Minimum quantities
