Got it 👍 PrestaShop tags are simple but powerful for SEO and internal search. Here’s the clean, practical way to manage tags in PrestaShop (works for PS 1.7 & 8.x).

1️⃣ What are Tags in PrestaShop?

Tags are keywords linked to products.
They help with:

• Store search results
• SEO (product discoverability)
• Cross-linking similar products

Example:
mobile, smartphone, android, 5g

2️⃣ How to Add / Edit Tags (Product Level)

Back Office Path

Catalog → Products → Edit Product

1. Open a product
2. Go to SEO / Options tab (or “Basic settings” in newer versions)
3. Find Tags
4. Enter tags:
   • Separate with comma
   • Example:

     cotton, summer wear, casual shirt
     

5. Save

📌 Important

• Tags are language-specific
• You must add tags separately for each language

3️⃣ View & Manage All Tags (Central Management)

Back Office Path

Catalog → Tags

Here you can:

• View all tags
• See number of products using each tag
• Filter by language
• Delete unused or wrong tags

🧹 Good for cleaning SEO junk tags.

4️⃣ Delete or Rename Tags

Delete

• Go to Catalog → Tags
• Select tag(s)
• Click Delete

Rename (Manual)

PrestaShop does not provide direct rename.
To rename:

1. Delete the old tag
2. Add the correct tag to products again

UPDATE ps_tag

By default, tags may not show.

Check Theme Template

File:

themes/your-theme/templates/catalog/product.tpl

Look for:

{if $product.tags}

If missing, your theme may have disabled tags.

✔ Use 2–6 relevant tags per product
✔ Avoid duplicate words already in product name
✔ No spam keywords
✔ Use search intent words (brand, material, use-case)
✔ Same tags for similar products = better internal linking

• Long sentences
