PrestaShop Managing Shipping

The way you choose to send your products is a key element for the administration and success of your store. You must explain the wide variety of methods available, which can mix carriers, regional and international taxes, the weight of the package, and the price of a product itself. Fortunately, PrestaShop makes it easier for you to handle everything on some screens.

The shipping price of a product is calculated basically using any of the two methods: the total price of the order, or the total weight of the order. This is how most carriers calculate your shipping costs, and that is why you must complete the weight set when creating a product in the catalog, and also why you should absolutely indicate costs by weight and by price for each carrier On the “Bearers” page.

PrestaShop calculates the shipping prices according to a system of weight ranges or price ranges. That system can only work for one or the other of these types of ranks.

The shipping settings work closely with the local configuration of your PrestaShop installation, thanks to the “International” menu. With pages such as “location” and locations “, you can edit geographic areas, countries, coins, etc. Therefore, be sure to take a serious look at the” International “menu, which is explained in the” IR International “chapter. By Example, to create a complete carrier in PrestaShop, you must clearly define its geographical areas before; this is done on the “Zones” tab below the “Location” page.
