PrestaShop seo tips for better visibility

Here are practical, high-impact PrestaShop SEO tips you can apply to improve visibility and rankings. These are specific to how PrestaShop works (URLs, modules, settings, databases).

1. Configure PrestaShop’s Built-in SEO Settings

Go to Back Office → Shop Parameters → Traffic & SEO
Optimize each:

✔ Meta Title

  • Unique for each page
  • Keep 50–60 characters
  • Include product name + keyword + brand

✔ Meta Description

  • 140–160 characters
  • Add benefits + CTA (e.g., “Free Shipping, COD Available”)

✔ Friendly URL

Enable friendly URLs:
SEO & URLs → Friendly URL → Yes

2. Optimize Product Pages (High Impact)

✔ Product Title

  • Keep it clear + keyword rich
    Example:
“Ertiga CNG Front Bumper Guard – 2025 Model | Maruti Original”

✔ Product Descriptions

Use:

  • H2 headings
  • Features + Benefits
  • FAQs
  • Add schema (JSON-LD) for product (you already use this)

✔ Product Images

  • WebP format
  • Name images properly:
    maruti-ertiga-cng-bumper-guard.webp
  • Add Alt text for every image

3. Speed Optimization (Ranking Factor)

PrestaShop is heavy. Do these:

✔ Enable CCC (Combine, Compress, Cache)

Back Office → Advanced Parameters → Performance

  • Smart cache for CSS: Yes
  • Smart cache for JS: Yes
  • Minify HTML: Yes
  • Combine, compress, cache: Yes
  • Use cache: Yes

✔ Enable Memcached

If server supports it.

✔ Use a CDN

Cloudflare free plan is enough.

4. Structured Data (Your Expertise Area)

Add JSON-LD for:

  • Product
  • Breadcrumb
  • LocalBusiness / Organization
  • Website / SearchAction
  • Category pages as ItemList

Use ImageObject type for images (your preference).

5. Fix Duplicate Content

PrestaShop creates duplicate URLs due to filters, pagination, categories.

Do these:

  • Set Canonical URLs (PrestaShop does it automatically — verify it’s correct)
  • Disable session IDs in URL
  • Use rel=”nofollow” for faceted navigation (use modules like SEO Expert or Noindex Filter Pages)

6. Category Page Optimization

Category pages rank very well.

Add:

  • 150–300 words unique description
  • Internal links
  • Add an FAQ for rich snippets

Example categories that can rank:
“Ertiga CNG Accessories”
“Python Trading Scripts” (your interest domain)

7. URL Structure

Best format for products:

/category/sub-category/product-name.html

Avoid:

  • Random numbers
  • Auto-generated URLs
  • Stop words like “the, a, an”

8. Sitemap Setup

Enable:

Modules → Google Sitemap

Select:

  • Products
  • Categories
  • CMS pages
  • Images (optional but helpful)

Submit sitemap in:

  • Google Search Console

9. Blog / Content Marketing

PrestaShop does not have a blog by default.

Install:

  • PrestaBlog
  • SmartBlog (free)

Write:

  • How-to guides
  • Product comparisons
  • “Top 10” lists
  • Location-based pages (e.g., CNG accessories in Mumbai)

10. Improve Internal Linking

Link from:

  • Category → Product
  • Blog → Product
  • Blog → Category
  • Homepage → Top categories

Use anchor text like:
“See Tiago iCNG accessories”
“View 100 EMA strategy script”

11. Mobile Optimization

  • Use a light theme (Warehouse, Transformer)
  • Use AMP plugin if possible
  • Optimize CLS, LCP, FID metrics

12. Backlinks (Most Important for Ranking)

Get links from:

  • Local directories
