1. Knowledge on consumer buying cycle
The proven and tested consumer buying cycle is really your best friend when it comes to Internet Marketing, especially when you use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as your marketing method. The buying cycle indicates that people first become aware about a product, consider it and then buy it. It is in the purchase stage – when people are ready to buy – that you make money. If your method is SEO, you can simply target keywords where people are ready to swipe their credit cards.
If you’re not sure what SEO is, it is simply the method of getting your websites ranked on Google, Yahoo, Bing and other search engines for certain keywords.
2. Mastery of a marketing method
SEO is not the only method for marketing things online. There are other methods too, like advertising on ad networks and Facebook, or social media marketing.
Any one of the methods mentioned above can make you a lot of money. However, we like to say that you don’t get from zero to thousands of dollars by spreading yourself thin and trying out different methods at once. You only have eight hours to work in any given day, unless if you’re willing to be tied to a chair before your computer.
Make good use of your time by studying only one method and really disciplining yourself to get to the point where you master it. You’ll know when you’ve mastered a method when you consistently make sales in any given month.

In all, internet affiliate marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme where you simply sit back and relax. It doesn’t take hard work but it does take some amount of work to make a full-time income online.
