What is magento modules

Magento modules are individual software components that extend the functionality of the Magento e-commerce platform. They are designed to add specific features or functionality to a Magento store, such as payment gateways, shipping methods, product comparisons, customer reviews, and more. Magento modules are created by Magento developers and can be purchased or downloaded for free from various sources, such as the Magento Marketplace or third-party websites.

Modules are designed to be easily installed and configured, and they can be managed through the Magento admin panel. This allows store owners to add new functionality to their stores without needing to have a deep understanding of the Magento codebase. Some popular modules include payment gateways like PayPal and Stripe, shipping methods like FedEx and UPS, and customer review and rating systems.

It’s important to note that not all modules are created equal and some may be of poor quality, not well supported, or even harmful. It’s always a good idea to research a module before installing it, and to ensure that it is compatible with the version of Magento you are running.
